Beyerdynamic’s M160 double ribbon has been a guitar-cab and snare favourite since it arrived in 1957, and the M88 and M201 are just as hard to replace. The M160 stacks two ribbons in a hypercardioid pattern (unusual for a ribbon), and with an M130 alongside it you have a ready-made mid-side pair.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDynamics are the other half of the story. The M88 is the big, warm choice for kick and vocals, the M201 is tight and focused on snare, and the M69, M99 and M101 round it out, several of them in TG form.
