Its tube-like FET design gives you access to both a traditional, clean FET sound and a classic tube character, making it a wonderfully versatile microphone.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"s3\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eOriginally, Andrea\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003es\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e and I designed the M28 to be a cardioid-only mic. However, that changed when Eckehard and I decided to make it more flexible, ultimately implementing five polar patterns in the final design. Because switches on microphone bodies can often be a point of failure, we spent a long time searching for a highly durable switching system.
