BAE
Brent Averill spent the late 80s in Los Angeles pulling Neve modules out of tired consoles and racking them, and BAE builds the same circuits the same way: hand-wired, Carnhill transformers, Elma switches. Mark Loughman arrived in 2001 to pay his way through audio school and ended up owning the company, which now stands for British Audio Engineering. We’ve got 1073s, 73-style preamps, 312As and 500 series racks coming through.
BAE’s 1073 went into production in June 2000, built from the original parts list, and the 1084, the 1023 and 1028 with their extended EQ, the 1272 line amp and the 312A American-style preamp sit alongside it, all discrete and all soldered by hand in North Hollywood.
Through here come the 1073 in rack, MP and DMP form, singly and in pairs with their PSUs, the 73MPL and 73EQL 500 series modules, the 312A, and the hardware that goes with them: the 3LB, 6SPR and 11-space chassis, the DLB rack and the 24V and bi-polar power supplies. If it’s gone, use Find Me Gear and we’ll flag the next one, checked over and ready to ship UK-wide.
