Locomotive Audio Z CAR
The all new Locomotive ZCAR is simple. Connect any instrument to your favourite mic preamp and record. Then, send the recorded signal to your pedal chain or amp of choice - all from one box!
With ZCAR's mu-metal shielded transformer, the 1/4" jacks and XLR jacks are isolated from one another. This provides proper input and output impedances on each side, so that you can focus more on performance and less on technical requirements. And since the ZCAR is passive, no power source is necessary.
Since the Locomotive ZCAR is a passive DI, a transformer takes your instrument signal and makes it perfect for any mic preamp. This will give you flexibility on how much coloration you would like the captured signal to have. Use a clean preamp to retain the characteristics of the instrument, or dirty it up before sending the signal back out to your amp in Amp-Up mode. A three-position switch allows the user to select the desired level of attenuation.
Send your recorded signal out of your DAW to any amplifier of your choice. The Amp-Up function offers two modes; a standard frequency response mode and "Big Roll" which offers a high frequency rolloff at 6dB/per octave starting at 1kHz.

Are all new items in stock?
With such a wide range of products we cant stock everything at all times.
The product page will display if an item is in stock. If it is marked as pre-order, you can place your order as normal and await its arrival into stock.
Please get in touch for an estimated shipping date. This may vary depending on stocking level with the manufacturer and/or distributor.
What warranty do you get with new gear?
Minimum 1 year manufacturer's warranty. Some manufacturers may also extend this (please see their respective websites for more information).
Can I part exchange used gear towards new gear?
Of course! Whether youre just looking to sell unused gear or looking to upgrade, get in touch here to discuss.
Can I test the equipment before I buy it?
We have a demo room at MNPA HQ where you are welcome to come and try out the equipment we have in stock. We’re not a shop and open to the general public so please get in touch via our Contact Form to book an appointment before coming to see us.
