Dangerous Music
Switch speakers, check a reference, bring the outboard back in. Dangerous Music builds the hardware that makes those decisions easier, with analogue summing mixers, monitor controllers and conversion for mixing and mastering. We’ve got D-BOX+, Monitor-ST and CONVERT options for connecting the room around your sessions (the volume knob still earns its desk space). Start with what you need to hear and where the signal needs to go.
Dangerous Music grew out of Bob Muller’s New York recording studio and Chris Muth’s work designing equipment for mastering rooms. The hardware company launched in 2001 with the commercial release of the 2-BUS analogue summing amplifier. Its brief came from working sessions: retain hands-on routing and monitoring as studios moved away from large consoles.
Combined control or separate boxes? The D-BOX+ brings eight-channel analogue summing, D/A conversion and speaker switching into one rack space. Source and Monitor-ST cover other monitoring setups, while CONVERT-AD+ and CONVERT-8 handle conversion in opposite directions. For tonal shaping, BAX500 joins our equalisers, bringing broad Baxandall shelves and high- and low-cut filters to a single 500 series slot.
Putting together a Dangerous Music chain? Send Find Me Gear the models you need and we’ll help complete the setup. In-stock equipment is ready to ship UK-wide.
