E-mu
Plenty of film scores, dance records and TV themes from the 90s came out of an E-mu rack module. Dave Rossum and Scott Wedge founded the company in California in 1971, built the Emulator sampler, then filled studios with the Proteus family of sound modules. We’ve got Proteus 2000, Virtuoso 2000, Planet Phatt, Orbit 9090 and Carnaval modules, the Morpheus and the E5000 Ultra coming through.
The Morpheus is the odd one out (and the one people ask for): its Z-Plane filters morph between shapes as you play, and ROM cards such as Film Score Composer and Dance Rage add sounds. Vintage Keys Plus covers classic keyboards, Pro/Cussion is all percussion, Orbit 9090 and Planet Phatt were built for dance music, and the E5000 Ultra is a full sampler.
Drive any of them from a MIDI controller and you’re away. If the module you want isn’t listed, tell Find Me Gear; everything is tested and ready to ship UK-wide.
