Manley
Manley Labs builds valve gear in what it calls beautiful and bovine Chino, California, and has done since the early 90s. EveAnna Manley has run it since 1996, and the three designs on most mastering racks date from that decade: the Variable Mu compressor of 1994, the VoxBox of 1997 and the Massive Passive EQ of 1998. We’ve got Massive Passives, Vari-Mus, VoxBoxes and Reference Cardioid mics coming through.
The Reference Cardioid and Reference Gold valve mics debuted at the 1990 AES show, the Massive Passive is the passive EQ mastering engineers reach for first, and the Variable Mu does the slow, glassy compression only a vari-mu can. The Core, the Nu Mu and the Elop+ carry the same high-voltage supplies.
Through here come the Massive Passive in stereo and mastering versions, the Stereo Variable Mu and Nu Mu, the VoxBox and Core channel strips, the Elop+, the Mic/EQ 500 combo, the 16x2 line mixer and the Reference Cardioid. If the one you want has sold, tell us via Find Me Gear and we’ll let you know when the next one arrives, checked over and ready to ship UK-wide.
