Schoeps
Ask a film sound recordist what goes on the end of the boom and the answer is very often Schoeps. Karl Schoeps founded the company in Karlsruhe in 1948, and its Colette system, a CMC amplifier body that takes interchangeable MK capsules, is the small-diaphragm condenser many classical and film engineers trust most. We’ve got bodies, capsules, CCM compacts and stereo bars coming through.
Colette arrived in 1973 and the idea is simple: one amplifier, many capsules. The MK4 cardioid is the all-rounder, the MK41 supercardioid the dialogue standard (ask any boom operator), the MK2 and MK2S omnis cover distance, and the MK22 open cardioid sits between. The CMC 5 U and CMC 6 U bodies take any of them, the CCM 4 builds the capsule in, and the UMS 20 bar holds a pair for stereo recording.
Pairs and capsule sets don’t stay long, so if what you need isn’t listed, ask Find Me Gear. Every mic is checked here and ready to ship UK-wide.
