Two ribbons, one position? Stager Microphones builds handmade ribbon microphones in Nashville, with mono models, matched pairs and a dedicated stereo design. Our collection includes the SR-1A, SR-2N and Stereo SR-2N for different approaches to your recording setup. Choose separate microphones for flexible placement or a fixed stereo arrangement (one less angle to argue over), depending on the instrument and the room.

The SR-2N shares the SR-1A’s ribbon dimensions and toroidal output transformer, using neodymium magnets in place of the larger Alnico design. The Stereo SR-2N combines two ribbon assemblies in a fixed orientation for Blumlein or Mid-Side recording. Prefer to position each microphone independently? Our range also includes an SR-2N matched pair, alongside the SR-3, SR-5 and SR-66. Plan your mic preamps around the channel count and gain required.
