AMS Neve 88RLBEQ
The 88R LBEQ packs the acclaimed equalisation heritage of Neve's flagship console designs into a compact, single-module 500-series format. Drawing on the revered circuitry of the 88RS analogue EQs, it delivers the musical precision, transparency, and control demanded by modern engineers and producers.
With +/-20 dB of gain available on each of its four fully parametric bands, this 500-series EQ delivers exceptional tonal authority. From subtle shaping to dramatic boosts and cuts, it offers greater headroom and flexibility than most comparable modules, making it a powerful tool for precise and musical sound sculpting.
The four EQ bands are designed to overlap seamlessly across the frequency spectrum. Combined with variable Q control on each band, this allows narrow, surgical boosts or cuts to be used alongside wide, musical curves, providing complete flexibility for detailed tonal sculpting and characterful sound shaping.
A fully sweepable low-frequency band from 33 Hz to 440 Hz with +/-20 dB of gain provides complete control over the bass spectrum, from deep sub-bass to low-mid fundamentals. The low band can be switched between standard or resonant shelving shapes, or wide and narrow bell curves, offering either broad tonal enhancement or precise frequency control.
The fully parametric low-mid band offers sweepable frequency, gain, and Q controls. Covering 120 Hz to 2 kHz with +/-20 dB of gain and a Q range from 0.3 to 7, it allows broad tonal enhancement for low-mid-heavy sources such as toms or brass, or tight surgical adjustment of problematic 'muddy' frequencies.
The fully parametric high-mid band provides sweepable frequency, gain, and Q controls, making it ideal for enhancing and refining sources in the upper-mid and presence range, particularly vocals. Spanning 0.8 kHz to 9 kHz with ±20 dB of gain and a Q range from 0.3 to 7, it can easily focus a vocal or add clarity and bite to guitars.
The high-frequency band spans 1.5 kHz to 18 kHz with ±20 dB of gain, allowing sparkle to be added or the top end to be gently tamed. Switchable standard or resonant shelving shapes, along with wide and narrow bell curve modes, provide precise control over the 'air' band for overhead microphones or full program material.
A dedicated EQ-IN switch features a true bypass design, allowing the signal to pass unaltered when disengaged. This enables instant A/B comparison, making it easy to evaluate the effect of the EQ while preserving the original source signal.
