The Burl Audio BAD4M is a 4-channel analog-to-digital converter daughter card purpose-built for critical mastering, mix bus conversion, and high-end tracking within the B80 and B16 Mothership chassis. Combining Burl Audio’s mastering grade ADC conversion path with ultimate analog flexibility, the BAD4M features dual input stages: a switchable BX1 transformer-coupled path for rich, tape-like harmonic saturation, and a transformerless Class-A path powered by NextGen BOPA14 discrete op-amps for pristine, uncoloured capture of analog signals.

Built specifically for mastering workflows, the BAD4M incorporates stepped input attenuators derived from the legendary B2 Bomber ADC, ensuring accurate level matching.

Equipped with dedicated rear-panel XLR balanced inputs, the BAD4M bypasses multi-pin DB25 breakout cables for direct, clean connections. Hardware jumpers on the board allow engineers to select between Short Delay and Long Delay digital reconstruction filter modes, as well as automatic Avid delay compensation to guarantee phase alignment when used as hardware inserts in Pro Tools.
