The Burl Audio BAD8 is an 8-channel analog-to-digital converter module engineered for the B80 and B16 Mothership modular chassis. Built on Burl Audio’s NextGen Analog architecture, the BAD8 utilises a redesigned, Burl BX1 input transformer on every channel. Designed for tracking, hybrid summing, and commercial recording setups, the BAD8 turns incoming signals into dynamic, tape like digital audio with harmonic warmth, low end punch, and three dimensional spatial depth.

By pairing Class A transistor topology with the small footprint BX1 input transformer, the BAD8 delivers 8 full channels of classic Burl analog saturation per slot, allowing up to 80 channels of transformer coupled ADC in a single 4U B80 Mothership chassis.

Hardware jumpers allow the customisation of the digital conversion performance. Users can switch between the default Short Delay filter (ultra-low latency with classic punch) and the Long Delay filter (for a more forward midrange hump). Onboard jumpers also enable phase accurate Avid HD I/O delay matching and latency alignment when running alongside BAD4 daughter cards in complex hybrid rigs.
