PMC 15 XBD System Horizontal
PMC15 XBD sets a new benchmark with immense LF authority, ultra-low distortion, wide dispersion, and powerful DSP-driven precision for elite large-format studios.
Building on the legendary BB5/6 XBD lineage—an industry reference for more than 35 years in the world’s most demanding recording, mixing, and mastering studios - the all-new PMC15 XBD system sets a new benchmark for large-format monitoring. Designed for engineers who demand absolute confidence in every decision, it delivers profound low-frequency extension and headroom with effortless authority, vanishingly low distortion, and unwavering transparency.
The PMC15 XBD system employs two cabinets that can be used freestanding, in vertical or horizontal stacks, or soffit-mounted side-by-side. The high- and mid-frequency drivers are shared with our PMC10 and PMC12 systems, using PMC's hand-built 34mm soft-dome tweeter and the latest PMC75v3 midrange dome with its proprietary n-compass™ dual-profile waveguide to ensure smooth, wide dispersion through the crossover region and a stable, precisely focused soundstage across an expansive listening area.
Low frequencies are delivered by a pair of all-new, in-house developed 15-inch bass drivers - one in each cabinet. These are the largest bass drivers ever designed by PMC, with massive, double-stacked magnet assemblies and three-layer, 3-inch voice coils. Working together, these massive drivers deliver immense power handling, ultra-low distortion, a vast phase-linear bandwidth, and huge LF headroom.
Controlling the PMC15 XBD system is PMC's bespoke Master36 rackmount DPS/Amplifier, and this also powers the primary cabinet, delivering 800W each to the tweeter and midrange, and a formidable 2000W to the bass driver. An additional power20 amplifier drives the 15-inch unit in the XBD cabinet, providing an additional 2000W. Precision digital crossovers, transparent excursion protection, and comprehensive room EQ are configured via a standard LAN using PMC's SoundAlign2 browser-based interface.
The PMC15 XBD delivers ultimate authority where absolute audio truth is non-negotiable.
