United Studio Technologies UT Tube67
(B-Stock)
Ex-demo.
The UT Tube67 is United's faithful homage to one of the most in-demand mic designs of all time. The original classics have shaped the sound of countless classic recordings since their debut 1960; renowned for velvety, creamy, full-bodied tone. The UT Tube67's provides a warm, intimate quality that only can be delivered by it's 1960s NOS EF86 vacuum tube. Linear response across polar patterns ensures versatility, excelling in capturing strings, woodwinds, brass, piano, drums, and both acoustic and electric guitars.
United has taken this classic-specification design to the next level with component-level attention to detail, as well as including a switchable Air Modification prefered by many classic recordists.
The UT Tube67's capsule is a custom-made, historically correct dual backplate/diaphragm capsule; skinned in a laboratory clean-room environment and 24k gold-sputtered on 6 micron Mylar. It has been optimised for the microphone's operating voltage, and tuned to it's ancestors' specification; resulting in a smooth sound without the resonance that is found on most modern reproductions. The difference in comparison to other reproductions is incredible.
United based it's design on a 1970s-made capsule that we found to be the best we had ever heard, providing a little more natural low to low-mid range frequency.
The custom-wound, US-made, UT-BV12 transformer is wound to our own specifications and set to the same laminations historically used on the original parts. Careful measurements were made from a golden speciman of the original transformer, delivering the same tight bass response legendary to the original.
United used all high-nickel alloy laminations and employed a copper Faraday shield for reduced Radio Frequency Interference (RFI). While we could have used a smaller or less expensive transformer, United’s design team refuses to compromise.

B-Stock Gear FAQs
What does B-Stock mean?
In the UK you can only sell items as New if they are in their unopened, original packaging. But what happens to the items that may have been sold and returned within the purchase cool off period? They can’t be sold as new anymore because the box has been opened. It’s not new, but it’s also not second-hand, so it is then classed as B-Stock and typically priced somewhere in between. The same also applies for items that might have been scratched or dented in the manufacturing process or during delivery.
All of our B-Stock items are sold on behalf of our manufacturing partners and are under 3 month Make Noise Pro Audio warranty and in certain circumstances the original manufacturers warranty too.
All units will have been either fully tested by us in-house or a factory QC by the manufacturer where appropriate.
What advantages are there to buying B-Stock?
B-stock units are usually in "as new" condition. You get the reassurance of being a relatively unused product with the lower cost vs buying new.
Do B-Stock units have any warranty?
3 month manufacturer warranty through Make Noise Pro Audio.
