Avalon Design is named after a beach in Sydney and built in San Clemente, California, where Wynton Morro has made pure Class A, fully discrete gear since 1985. The VT-737sp is the channel strip in every photo of a vocal chain: valve preamp, opto compressor and sweep EQ in 2U. The U5 DI has been under bass players’ feet since 1995. We’ve got 737s, 747s, U5s and AD2022s coming through.

Morro’s rule from day one was discrete, high-bias Class A and the shortest signal path, with sealed silver relays doing the switching. The VT-747sp pairs a stereo opto compressor with a six-band EQ, the AD2022 is the dual-mono Class A mic preamp, the AD2044 the opto compressor alone, the AD2055 the EQ, and the V5 adds re-amping to the U5 idea.
