Chandler REDD Console
The REDD Mixing System is the first EMI recording console released in over 50 years, bringing the legendary sound of REDD, TG, and RS desks together in one fully modular, modern system.
Developed over six years by Chandler Limited in collaboration with Abbey Road Studios, the REDD Mixing System lets you design your ideal console, small or large, tube or solid state, tracking or mixing without compromise.
The REDD Mixing System continues the long legacy of revolutionary EMI recording desks. From the REDD.37 introduced in 1958, to the REDD.51 in 1964, and the TG12345 MKI in 1968, EMI consoles have shaped countless timeless recordings. Artists such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and The Rolling Stones relied on these desks, as well as iconic film scores including Raiders of the Lost Ark.
The REDD Mixing System is the result of Wade Goeke’s pursuit to unify multiple generations of EMI and Abbey Road console designs into a single, flexible format. Drawing inspiration from the modular nature of the original TG desks, often broken down for remote recordings or special applications, the system was designed to be fully configurable and expandable.
- Configure any combination of REDD, TG, and RS channels and busses
- Intermix tube and solid-state cassettes
- Start small, expand endlessly
- Mounts in standard racks with 12U free
- Designed for modern studio furniture and workflows
Users can build a system of virtually any size, starting with as few as two input cassettes and expanding as their needs grow. Large systems can also be split and redistributed across multiple rooms. Whether used for tracking, mixing on a console, mixing in the box, or as outboard gear, the REDD system adapts without locking the user into a fixed size or long-term commitment.
At its core, the REDD Mixing System reflects a deep respect for the craftsmanship and engineering principles behind classic EMI equipment. Each component is designed to preserve the character, tone, and musicality that made the original desks legendary, while allowing them to coexist seamlessly within a modern workflow.
- Transformer balanced in and out
- Hand-soldered PCBs and eyelet wiring
- No surface-mount components
- No ribbon cables
- Vintage-style faders with modernised mechanisms
This is true analogue craftsmanship, built to last for generations.
The system supports multiple historical EMI circuit designs as interchangeable cassette options. Users can select from REDD tube circuitry, TG MKI designs featuring germanium transistors, or MKIV TG designs built with Class A silicon components, all within one unified system.
The console fits anywhere twelve rack units are available and integrates easily into modern workstation or mastering-style studio furniture. From compact setups to multi-bay installations, the REDD Mixing System delivers classic sound with contemporary practicality.
