The Cloud Microphones Cloudlifter CL-X2 brings the transformer-enhanced gain staging of the CL-X into a dual channel portable enclosure. Combining Cloud's patented Class-A discrete JFET circuitry with custom nickel-core CineMag input transformers, the CL-X2 provides switchable gain levels of +12 dB or up to +36 dB per channel.

Each channel on the CL-X2 features an independent More / Max output attenuator switch. In Max mode, the CL-X2 delivers up to +36 dB of clean boost, taking the gain burden off your preamps when capturing whispered vocals, ambient room sounds, or low-sensitivity dynamic and ribbon mics. Switching to +12 dB mode allows louder sources too drive the CineMag transformer stage without clipping downstream interfaces or converters.
