Spectra 1964 STX 100D
The original Spectra Sonics amplifier circuit is now available in a 500 series Lunch Box format. Known for its use in numerous recording facilities worldwide, Spectra Sonics consoles were at the heart of timeless recordings from EL&P, Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Yes, to John Lennon and Aretha. At the heart of the 100D the sound of the 101 amplifier is very distinguishable, with full harmonic reproduction, low noise and distortion, and huge headroom.
Based on the Spectra Sonics console design and development from 1964 through 1971, the 100D features an all-discrete topology using two 101 amplifier modules and US-made input and output transformers, packaged in a single space 500 series lunch box format. Without compromising performance, the 101's were reduced in physical size by over 75% to fit the 500 series lunchbox. The goal was to produce an identical sonic performance that is indistinguishable when compared to early Spectra consoles. We achieved this result without the anomalies and performance limitations common in many lunchbox devices. The 100D is a high-quality product manufactured in the US by Spectra 1964 at their Ogden facility. (Over 95% of the sourced components within all Spectra1964 originate from the US or European suppliers).
